Life is so fast paced theses days; we have instant access to information and hyper-connectivity with each other, there is so much stuff floating around and whizzing past us that in can be difficult to keep up. This can often make it difficult for us to find escape from everything and for us to work out where our priorities lie. We can all get stressed at different times and by different things and this can in the worst case drastically affect our health and life expectancy, or in the best of cases make our day to day lives more difficult and unpleasant for the duration of the stress.
A lot of my friends always tell me about how stressed they are and how difficult it can be to cope with such heightened worry and difficult life situations. There are plenty of things that psychology and ancient traditions have taught us that can help with such situations but according to this great TED Talk by Dr Kelly McGonical the way we look at the idea of stress can affect the impact it has upon us.
To me this is an astoundingly refreshing way to view something that can affect us all and shows that through the attention we pay to things we can have a bigger impact on our reality than perhaps we previously thought.

Building a habit is difficult and for a lot of people can create a lot of resistance even though they are starting something that may well be good for them. Research differs but building a habit with a very good chance of keeping at it requires 21-30 days of practice. Habits can be so difficult to keep for a number of reasons; for me the biggest reason is I make my intended habit too difficult and complicated when I first try to adopt it.
