Surrender to Your Experience

“Each of us actually believes that things should be the way we want them, instead of being the natural result of all the forces of creation.” ~ Michael A. Singer, author of: The Surrender Experiment: My Journey into Life’s Perfection and The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself

Stress is What You Make of It

We can all get stressed at different times and by different things and this can in the worst case drastically affect our health and life expectancy, or in the best of cases make our day to day lives more difficult and unpleasant for the duration of the stress.

A lot of my friends always tell me about how stressed they are and how difficult it can be to cope with such heightened worry and difficult life situations. There are plenty of things that psychology and ancient traditions have taught us that can help with such situations but according to this great TED Talk by Dr Kelly McGonical the way we look at the idea of stress can affect the impact it has upon us.

What I’m talking about is the type of anxiety which can develop in the absence of any seriously stressful situations. The anxiety that we seem to get for no reason that can feel like someone is throttling your soul.  Continue reading

Beginning to Let Go

We go through life with various things that get in our way, things that trip us up and can sometimes change our path; often these are things over which our control level equals something close to zero and this can be a worry and sometimes upsetting thing for us.
